Every picture tells a story and everyone has a story to tell. Through Optimago Media I have helped many businesses, charities and brands tell theirs since founding the company in 2012. More recently I have been working hard developing original content for different broadcast platforms, both scripted and non-scripted, and I have just commissioned the pilot script for a proposed new series based on a true story. I have also worked with a number of independent start-ups, providing management support and occasionally producing content.
Before setting up Optimago in 2012 I worked in the UK broadcasting industry for 26 years on both sides of the supply chain, not only as a producer but also inside UK broadcasting network Channel 4. I have also twice successfully launched TV production start-ups, first in 1995 and than again in 2008.
I have produced programming for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, National Geographic and Discovery Channels in the UK, PBS and Discovery Channel in USA, Discovery Channel in Asia and Latin America, ZDF in Germany, and SBS and the ABC in Australia. Programmes I produced continue to sell to TV networks and platforms across the world.
Away from my desk I worked with the Short Course Training Programme at the National Film and Television School, helping to train the next generation of production management talent, and have twice sat on the Advisory Committee to the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival.
